The wave sheaf offering is an offering, which is a BUNDLE OF SEPARATE BARLEY GRAINS, FROM A NUMBER OF PLANTS, AMOUNTING TO AN "OMER" -- about five pints, or two and one half quarts. This offering followed the offering of the Messiah, as our Passover lamb, who paid for our sins.   The burnt offering of the unblemished lamb represents the sacrificial offering of Messiah, the barley loaf made of a set measure of specially selected individual grains from the harvested crop, ground into fine flour mixed with oil, represents a corporate body of saints permeated by the oil of the Spirit to become one bread - one body indwelt.

The Yajur-Veda ('Veda of sacrificial formulas') consists of archaic prose mantras and also in part of verses borrowed from the Rig-Veda. Its purpose was practical, in that each mantra must accompany an action in sacrifice but, unlike the Sama-Veda, it was compiled to apply to all sacrificial rites, not merely the Soma offering. Hinduism - Hinduism - Daily offerings: There are five obligatory offerings: (1) offerings to the gods (food taken from the meal), (2) a cursory offering (bali) made to “all beings,” (3) a libation of water mixed with sesame offered to the spirits of the deceased, (4) hospitality, and (5) recitation of the Vedas. Although some traditions prescribe a definite ritual in which these five.

Like a host hurried onward comes thy lasso: fierce, with thy tongue thou piercest, as ’twere barley. 5 The men have decked him both at eve and morning, Most Youthful Agni, as they tend a courser. They kindle him, a guest within his dwelling: bright shines the splendour of the worshipped Hero.

Thus the word yava, which in modern Sanskrit implies barley only, was used in the Veda to imply food-grains generally, including wheat and barley. And the word dhana, which, in Bengal at least, now means paddy or rice, implies in the Rig-Veda fried barley, which was used as food and offered to the gods.

The day following the sabbath during Passover is called the Feast of First Fruits (Leviticus [Vayikra] ).The Feast of First Fruits can be found in Leviticus (Vayikra)as it is written.

This Question has been again asked today and -I have again replied => I'm very interested in the Vedas. It’s very mysterious yet coherent. Monier-Williams translates yajus as "religious reverence, veneration, worship, sacrifice, a sacrificial prayer, formula, particularly mantras muttered in a peculiar manner at a sacrifice".

Veda means "knowledge". Johnson states yajus means "(mostly) prose formulae or mantras, contained in the Yajur. The Rig Veda consists of ten mandalas or books. It is a collection of prayers offered to Agni, Indra, Mitra, Varuna and other gods by various families of poets or sages.
